Testing on Computer FAQ

For step-by-step instructions and walkthroughs of the registration and scheduling process, please visit our tutorial page.

1. Where do I register and schedule the GED® test on computer?

2. What if I don’t have an email address?

3. My registration is not complete.

Go back to your account at GEDcomputer.com and select registration form. All of your responses to the registration questions will be listed on that form.

4. I forgot my username and/or password.

5. How do I request accommodations?

Accommodations are requested through your jurisdiction. Please contact your specific jurisdiction for more information on the available accommodations.

6. What can I bring into the testing room?

An erasable noteboard and calculator will be allowed in the testing room for the Mathematics Test. No other items are allowed in the testing room, and will be stored in a secure location.

7. Do I have to answer all of the questions on the registration forms?

All questions marked with an * are required, and must be answered to complete your registration. All other questions are optional.

8. Why are there two registration forms?

9. How do I create my account?

10. Can I take a break during the test?

You will receive a 10-minute scheduled break between each module. Unscheduled breaks are not allowed and your results may be deemed invalid (you would have to retake the test).

11. My registration cannot be processed.

Contact your jurisdiction for a status; you may need to provide additional documentation before being approved to register for the test.

12. When will I get my results?

Official results will be distributed by your jurisdiction. A preliminary score report will be printed at the end of the test. The score report will include an unofficial pass/fail score for all tests except the writing test.

13. Can I take the GED® test on paper and on computer?

Find your jurisdiction's policies on taking both forms of the test.

14. I don’t know my school code.

15. What is my jurisdiction?

Your jurisdiction is the state you live in and is where you will be receiving your GED® test credential (there are a few exceptions).
