1. Where do I register and schedule the GED® test on computer?
- You register for the GED® test at GEDcomputer.com.
- Create your account, register, and schedule your test.
2. What if I don’t have an email address?
- Create a free email account at Google, Yahoo, or Hotmail.
- Review information from GED Testing Service about creating an email account at GEDtestingservice.com/createemail.html.
3. My registration is not complete.
Go back to your account at GEDcomputer.com and select registration form. All of your responses to the registration questions will be listed on that form.
4. I forgot my username and/or password.
- Log on to GEDcomputer.com and select “Forgot Your Password?” You will enter your last name and email address. Once completed, you’ll get an email containing a hyperlink that allows you to reset your password.

5. How do I request accommodations?
Accommodations are requested through your jurisdiction. Please contact your specific jurisdiction for more information on the available accommodations.
6. What can I bring into the testing room?
An erasable noteboard and calculator will be allowed in the testing room for the Mathematics Test. No other items are allowed in the testing room, and will be stored in a secure location.
7. Do I have to answer all of the questions on the registration forms?
All questions marked with an * are required, and must be answered to complete your registration. All other questions are optional.
8. Why are there two registration forms?
- The first registration form is a standard GED Testing Service form that everyone must fill out to register for the test.
- The second registration form contains registration questions that are specific to your jurisdiction.
9. How do I create my account?
- Go to GEDcomputer.com and select “Register Today.” A new browser window will open—select “New Users Start Here.” Follow the directions to create your own GED® testing account.

10. Can I take a break during the test?
You will receive a 10-minute scheduled break between each module. Unscheduled breaks are not allowed and your results may be deemed invalid (you would have to retake the test).
11. My registration cannot be processed.
Contact your jurisdiction for a status; you may need to provide additional documentation before being approved to register for the test.
12. When will I get my results?
Official results will be distributed by your jurisdiction. A preliminary score report will be printed at the end of the test. The score report will include an unofficial pass/fail score for all tests except the writing test.
13. Can I take the GED® test on paper and on computer?
Find your jurisdiction's policies on taking both forms of the test.
14. I don’t know my school code.
- Visit the following website to locate your school code: http://nces.ed.gov/globallocator/
- You may also contact your jurisdiction for assistance.
15. What is my jurisdiction?
Your jurisdiction is the state you live in and is where you will be receiving your GED® test credential (there are a few exceptions).
16. I did not receive an email confirmation.
